We head into the studio on March 31 to record our first full length album. We’re tracking at Marigolds + Monsters Studio with our good buddy Matt Malpass at the helm. I’m all sorts of thrilled, shaky, mind-boggled, sweet nasty about it all. It’s so close, yet too far away. We’re so very prepared and oh so underprepared all at the same time! This project has come a long way since the end of ‘06 demoing 3 songs as essentially a 2-piece with some friends in tow to playing our first shows at the end of ‘07 as a solidified 5-piece, to going on tour, and now it’s 2008 and we’ve got an album’s worth of material and we’re going in to lay it all out on the table for all to hear. I’m on pins and needles, this is a beautiful thing, one that I’ve longed for for what seems an eternity . Over the past few weeks, I’ve been getting my lyrics together for the our new material and I was going through some old files on my lap top. Above is a photo of some early lyrics to “Better Way,” some of which stayed in the mix, as well as some doodles that helped me get through the process. Its good to look back, its good to look forward, I’m proud of this project and its and honor to sing, play, and write with the other fellows in this band and we really cannot wait to let you in on it all.
