Drums Details:
We used Jeremy Byrd’s (The Bridges) Ludwig kick and snare. For toms, we went with Drum Tech Lane’s Pacific 13” mounted and 16” floor. Cymbals included a wide array from Jay’s circa 1970’s Italian made UFIP hats and ride, Lane’s Zildjian A Series New Beat hats, crashes, and Sweet Ride, and John Cole’s (Ponderosa) A Series Armand hats and crashes. Also, rather than searching for an actual Kettle Drum, we added some additional deep tuned toms to ‘Sweet Love’ including a freshly purchased hand drum along with a red-headed Meinl mallet (thanks Earthshaking Music) to get that bellowing orchestral drum sound…
So what does this all mean??? Drums are DONE! In the books! Read ‘em and weep! Blam right in your face! Jay really did great, 5 songs in a 6 hour day is a kick-a session and we can’t wait to layer some more music on top of the foundation he’s given us.
Day Five is for Bass Guitar and its going to be killer.
